My current record player is a Newcomb AV-10 that I bought from an antique store in Elizabeth, Illinois that used to be a school. This record player was desgined to be used in schools, so it was probably used there.
It appears to be an older model, as it uses what looks like a 2-pin DIN socket as a speaker output, though at some point someone added a normal 1/8" headphone jack alongside it. I'm guessing it was made in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Based on a stamp on the case, it was probably in use until at least October 1991.
Despite the fact that it obviously hadn't been used in a long time, it worked perfectly from the moment I first turned it on.
